A family self-defense program is an excellent way of improving the safety of your family. Committing to the course will allow everyone to gain the tactics of self-defense and safety strategies. This is one of the most popular Karate City family programs as the whole family can enjoy the course.
As we use techniques from special forces around the world, we will prepare your family for any situation. We use strategies and tips from the military and special forces of Japan, Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, and also Brazil. The family self-defense program will give everyone the correct ways to get out of dangerous situations. A minimum of 10 lessons will include how to escape from different holds due to someone grabbing you. We cover defense tips from the ground should someone knock you down.
The remaining lessons of the course will polish those techniques. We will provide tips on distance as well as angling techniques. As this is a customizable program, we can find each person’s strength. We focus on this to build extra skills and, above all maximize these strengths for use when they are in danger.

Self Defense UWS : The environment affects learning
Self Defense UWS : Igor is a very cautious person. In all things, he feels that he should understand the fundamentals of everything before he takes a step or risk. His mum used to say he was cautious even as a baby. His mother recalls that when he wants to sit, he turns his head to make sure everything is safe.
This cautious nature is a personal quality. It is one element that shows how unique each person is. After all, our noses have different shapes, our ears are different, and your stature can be short or tall. This is the reason that Igor believes we need to personalize the teaching curriculum. Igor believes that we are all special and unique, and hence, the way we learn is also different. Without a personal approach to learning, you could fall behind and not flourish in life. This is because we misinform them about who they are. Much of this is due to the method of teaching in schools.
Karate City stands as a milestone for a revolution in education. Igor has a unique insight into how people learn. He has a fascination with what motivates people, how long they retain information, as well as how schooling affects them. He sees that schools affect people’s minds, emotions, and bodies. Different perspectives affect children, along with other environmental factors such as what they eat.
Parents often use incentives to reward kids for doing an excellent job in karate class. They might give their child an ice cream or McDonald’s. But, this creates a connection of rewarding a child for doing something good with consuming something unhealthy.
At Karate City, Igor meets a blond boy, Liam, who starts karate at the age of two. Liam is like a Tazmanian devil, running around with no idea what he should be doing. Liam doesn’t like bananas at home. It takes a month for Liam to accept an organic banana if he has a good karate class. If Liam has a bad class, he receives a yellow card.
Liam is now five years old, and when he finishes class, he asks for banana. He learns to associate the banana with success and hard training. He now appreciates the taste and texture of the fruit, creating a healthy habit.
Unfortunately, in the current culture, schooling is almost the opposite. Pizzas are the diet, and these poison the person or mute the brain or body. Professional athletes that run 20 miles or train for many hours might eat pasta. They burn pasta as fuel, but a child needs to have more micro/macro elements and building blocks. This is crucial for nourishing a child’s body and building healthy habits that will last a lifetime. Self Defense UWS
